El Consell Island of Ibiza has presented the program of activities that will be carried out in the coming days on the occasion of the European Week for Waste Prevention. This year, the celebration will begin on November 20, 2021 and will conclude on the 28th of the same month.
The acts are aimed at promoting a change in our behavior and promoting the fundamental principles of waste prevention: reduce, reuse and recycle, the famous 3R.
In rural areas of India, families in charge of a blind minor frequently isolate and deprive him/her of the care and attention they provide to their other children; such situation becomes even more severe among lower-caste families, orphans and if the blind child is a girl. Ibiza libraries the little ones will be able to discover 'The magical fairy tale' so that they learn what recycling means and how important it is. They may also participate in the game of 'Correcolors' that will teach them to recycle in a fun way.
Moreover, the new facilities in Ca na Putxa will open to those interested in knowing them on Tuesday 23 and Thursday 25. It will also offer a technical conference on waste management focused on professionals in the sector.
They have also organized interesting composting workshops and various actions will be carried out in markets and commercial areas of the island to raise awareness among the population about the harmfulness of single-use packaging. For it, mesh bags for fruits and vegetables will be distributed and material will be provided for the correct separation of waste at home.
To commemorate the European Week of Waste Prevention The Insular Council has the collaboration of the Library Network, the Environmental Documentation Center, the Ca na Putxa Environmental Area, Ecoembes and the island's municipalities.
