El City of San José, through its Department of Social Action, Family and Equality, has prepared, as every year, a complete program of cultural and protest activities to commemorate the International Women's Day, which is celebrated worldwide on March 8.
The activities take place over three weeks, from Saturday March 2 with the play 'Writers', of Maracaibo Theater at 19 p.m. in the Caló de s'Oli Auditorium. A story of sorority and dance with free admission.
El March 5 Tuesday at 17:30 p.m. there is the story telling 'Arrels of colors' by Nexes Arteduca in the Sant Jordi Library. The next day, the Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 18 p.m. and also in the Library there is a Reading workshop on feminism.
El Friday, March 8, 2024, International Women's Day, at 12 noon the reading of the manifest in the city Hall. In addition, at 17:30 p.m. the Cala de Bou Library hosts the storyteller 'The Journey of Soul' by Magical Smiles and at 20 p.m. the film is projected at Can Jeroni. 'She said' (2022), based on the book by reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, which recounts the journalistic investigation that uncovered the Harvey Weinstein case that fueled the 'MeToo' movement.
The Plaza de Sant Jordi welcomes on the morning of Saturday March 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 13:30 p.m., a Feminist templates workshop with Lucia Ortin.
El Sunday March 10 it is celebrated XII Cursa per la Dona in Playa d'en Bossa. In addition, at 19 p.m. Can Jeroni hosts the dance show 'The Humans of the Waves', by IB Danza.
El Thursday 14 of March 2024 The play 'Igualiyay@s' is performed, with the company La Cómica, a play intended for the elderly. You have to register at the senior centers and there will be free buses to attend.
El Friday, March 15 the porch of the Church of Sant Jordi welcomes at 19:30 p.m.Touches for poetry: solpost of verses and poetry', a very special musical and poetic activity with the group endemics.
The program closes with the presentation of the book 'intense'with its author, Ana Requena, Friday, March 22, 2024 at the San José Library at 19:30 p.m.
