City Council San Jose, through its Department of Equality, organizes various activities to commemorate the 25-N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
From the 20 until November 28 of 2020 there are scheduled talks, screenings, an exhibition, the recording of a live podcast and the creation of a mural, among other actions designed to raise awareness against a social scourge that, this year alone, has ended the lives of 38 women this year, killed at the hands of their abuser.
In addition, as the Councilor for Equality, Guadalupe Nauda, has pointed out: “We must not forget that many women have suffered a situation of greater vulnerability by being forced to confine themselves with their abuser and have been exposed to greater violence in this year, marked by the pandemic. ”.
