After last year's break due to the pandemic, the V edition of the Ibiza Salt Fair Is celebrated the Friday 29, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 of October of 2021.
Organized by the Consell de Ibiza and the San José City Council, the event aims to highlight the importance of the salt tradition in the history of Ibiza, well during centuries represented the first industry and economic activity of the island.
As every year, the three days come loaded with interesting activities in Sant Jordi and Las Salinas related to the shawlAs a volunteer day to help recover the old salt square of the Xanga salt complex in sa Sal Rossa on Saturday October 30 at 9.30 am.
There will also be diverse excursions and routes that will help you discover the enormous natural and heritage wealth of Las Salinas de Ibiza, workshops and activities for the little ones on Friday the 29th in the afternoon and Saturday the 30th in the morning, and Sal i 3 Band concert, formed by the musicians Pere Navarro, Franco Prats and Miquel "Botja" with the show “Tres saliners molt salats”.
This year a drawing competition among the children of the entire municipality who will be exposed on the porch of the Church of Sant Jordi, with various awards.
As is tradition, the Saturday 30 of October 2021 at 11 am the fair opens with the lighting of the "fogueró" and there will be various excursions and routes, on foot and by bicycle. There will also be a showcooking by Pere Tur, chef of the Sa Nansa restaurant, and food preservation techniques such as peix sec, bones or olives will be shown.
On Saturday night the audiovisual "Don Venim" on the facade of the Church of Sant Jordi, accompanied by the music of Bartomeu Mari to the grand piano and Mark Manuel to the violin. Previously, in the afternoon, the sauce, the traditional blessing of salt, with misa and exhibition of Dance party with the Folkloric Group of Sant Jordi de ses Salines.
On Sunday the 31st, various guided itineraries by Las Salinas and a gang of salineros will recreate the salt extraction job.
