La VII edition of the Ibiza Salt Fair Is celebrated the Saturday October 21 and Sunday, October 22, 2023, organized by the San José City Council, to remind us one more year of the importance of the salt tradition in the history of Ibiza that during centuries was first industry and economic activity of the island.
Once again this year there will be plenty of interesting salt-related activities including salt harvesting demonstrations, tastings of traditional dishes, live music and cultural shows. Among the highlights of the program we can highlight:
Saturday 21 2023 October: Children's watercolor workshop with Clara Cerviño and tasting of “ossos amb col”, a traditional Ibizan dish in the Plaza de Sant Jordi.
Sunday 22 2023 October: Dramatized visits to the Torre de la Sal Rossa with Eivissa Editions Produccions titled 'The valent watchman of the tower'; traditional lighting of “Es Fogueró”, the old salt mountain of the swamp (which was the old sign for the collection of salt); traditional salt collection with Vicent Marí “Palermet” and the historian Antoni Ferrer Abárzuz in the salt ponds; traditional singing sample with the Petit Cor; Traditional country ballad with the Grup folklòric de Sant Josep de sa Talaia or a craft market with local and artisan products.
