The Town Hall of Ibiza shows an exhibition in its Plenary Hall with works by the artist María Catalán until March of 2020
The anteroom to the Plenary Hall of the Ibiza Town Hall in Can Botino (Dalt Vila) hosts a temporary exhibition of the artist María Catalán (Castellón de la Plana, 1961).
It is a sample that consists of 6 works, most of large format, and organized with the collaboration of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza (MACE). In the exhibition you can see recent works of Catalan, specifically "Eternal Ocean", "For life", "Untitled", "Behind his fence", "Folds I" and "Folds II", made during 2018 and 2019.
In the works of Catalan, which currently works mainly with a palette of whites and grays, we find references to artists like Eduard Micus, Bechtol or Pagliari.
These are very formal paintings that are accompanied by shapes with boxes that delimit the chromatic zones. They are works that seek greater expressivity through simplicity. In addition, the works include fragments of poems and texts previously written by Catalan.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday and in schedule 8 to 15 hours until March of the 2020.
