Various artists from the island participate in the elaboration of a feminist mural in Ibiza to give visibility to women in urban spaces
Various artists from the island have taken part in the development of a feminist mural in Ibiza. The objective of the creation of this artistic work is give visibility to women in urban spaces, highlight the role of important women in history who have not been recognized by the mere fact of being women.
The project began in September of 2018 in the sports tracks of sa Bodega, in Ibiza city, and was led by the artists Jerom, TwoFlü and Aida Miró. The mural was made on the basis of grafitti and acrylic paint.
In the first phase, three women from different generations and ethnic groups were painted: an oriental girl about 8 years old, a middle-aged African woman and an old pitiusa.
Now in February of 2019 a second phase is painted, with artists like Caterina Tur. The idea underlying this interesting project for the equality of men and women is that these three faces of women from the beginning are joined by many more.
