On Thursday 9 of August 2018 is inaugurated with art, concerts and aperitif the Free Library of San Carlos, the first street library on the island
El Thursday August 9 2018 at 20 hours the inauguration Free Library of San Carlos, the first street library on the island. It is a project driven by Nica Seeleva which aims to promote Respect, generosity and the exchange of ideas through the free transit of books, ideas and knowledge.
The idea is to place furniture Street that allow to accommodate books of different genres and for all ages in different languages. The furniture will be painted by artists such as Rocco Beschi or Pablo Canibalove, which one will paint live during the inauguration.
The inauguration will also feature numerous artistic and cultural activities, such as a Raquel Bronza exhibitiona reading by Ana Olivia Fiol, author of “Amber Island”, a sample of sculptures by Ezequiel Herrera and the already mentioned Live painting. It will also begin to write an “exquisite corpse” book, surrealist technique of collective creation. At the appointment there will also be live music with artists and DJs and a appetizer which two chefs will handle.
This street library will remain open the 24 hours of the day and, initially, it already has a fund of more than 2.000 copies. When inspired by ideas such as Co-creation, trust, respect or solidarity, will feature new and old books donated by several public libraries and publishers, as well as the now-disappeared Vara de Rey bookstore.
