The cultural hall of Can Jeroni in San José opens the exhibition "Books and Colors" starring the works of the painter and bookbinder Margarita Garcia De La Cruz.
An original sample in which some of the most prominent works of this versatile artist in the publishing field are presented. Book covers which are authentic works of art, made with a great variety of materials, prints and patterned textures.
The Asturian Margarita García de la Cruz He has been living on the island for 5 for years. With an important career as a bookbinder, she studied at the School of Art and Decoration of Madrid (IDE) and specialized in bookbinding at the School of Architecture and Visual Arts of Cambre (Brussels). Throughout his career he has received several awards, such as National Prize of the Ministry of Culture for the Best Artistic Binding in 2007 for "The Wizard of Vienna", by the Mexican writer Sergio Pitol. He has also received several awards "Best Artistic Bindings", from the National Library.
