The cultural center of San José, Can Jeroni, organizes an interesting special screening on the occasion of the International Women's Day for Peace and Disarmament, which takes place on Sunday, May 24, 2020.
Thus, the cultural center has programmed the online screening of the documentary “Fragmentos” throughout the weekend, from Friday 22 at 20:24 p.m. until midnight on Sunday, May 2020, XNUMX.
The film tells how, after the peace accords, the Colombian government instructs the sculptor Doris Salcedo to make a work of art with the weapons delivered by the FARC guerrillas and melt them in large ovens. The sculptor invites women victims of sexual violence from all the actors in the conflict (FARC, paramilitaries, Army) to hammer and forge the metal resulting from the burning of weapons. The result is a catharsis that takes them over; They leave pain behind and demand justice, while giving us a lesson in reconciliation and peace. As one of them affirms, "if you can melt the weapons, you can also melt the hatred of this country"
