Sa Nostra Room, a culture hall located in Ibiza town, presents a new exhibition entitled "From the sea" ("From the sea"), starring the works of the painter Diana Bustamante.
Precisely, Diana Bustamante was the winner with the work "Des de la mar" by Eight August Painting Prize in 2019, awards granted by the Consell de Ibiza. The jury awarded her work for "The elegant balance between painting and collage, and for capturing in a seemingly spontaneous way what is the essence of landscape". In his work, Bustamante conjugates figuration and abstraction with economy of means, with syncretism.
This winning painting gives the title to the show, which includes in total 36 works of great expressive force that, at times, border on abstraction. In them we contemplate emblematic landscapes of Ibiza such as Es Vedrà, Dalt Vila, Benirràs or Platges de Comte, but we also glimpse the Galician or Alicante coasts.
In his works, Bustamante gives landscape and figures a inimitable movement, characterized by immediacy, speed, gesture and stain.
The exhibition opens on Thursday August 27 2020 at 20 hours.
You can visit it from Monday to Friday in time from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m. and from 17 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. until the next 25th September 2020.
