The Cultural Center of Jesus presents the exhibition Light Pollution Depends on Us, from 28 from June to 6 from July 2019
El Cultural Center of Jesus hosts a new exhibition called “Light Pollution Depends on Us” and organized by the Astronomy Group of Eivissa (AAE), the Federation of Astronomical Associations of Spain (FAAE) and the organization Cel Fosc.
The exhibition opens on Friday 28 2019 June and it is open until Saturday 6 2019 July.
El Saturday 6 2019 July at 20 hours the president of the FAAE, Blanca Througton, Will offer a conference on light pollution, the biggest problem facing astronomy today.
A sample to reflect on the damage that light pollution represents for astronomy, both amateur and professional. And the fact is that the proliferation of artificial lights more and more intense prevents us from observing, studying and photographing the weakest bodies in the sky.
The exhibition is complemented by several panels to show the situation of light pollution in Ibiza, Spain and around the world, as well as the damage it causes and why it is caused. It is a traveling exhibition that is traveling throughout Spain to raise awareness among the population and authorities about the need to regulate artificial light emissions and that we can enjoy the night sky again.
The visit time of the sample is 16 to 21 hours.
