Pikes Ibiza presents the I Pikes Literary Festival on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 September 2018, with Irvine Welsh, John Niven and Stephen Armstrong
The iconic hotel Pikes Ibiza in San Antonio presents an irresistible appointment: the First Pikes Literary Festival, a two-day literary festival celebrated on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 of September of 2018.
The event will be headed by authors of great international recognition, such as the winner Irvine Welsh (“Trainspotting”), screenwriter and writer John niven (“Kill Your Friends”) and Stephen Armstrong (“The White Island: The Extraordinary History of the Mediterranean's Capital of Hedonism”). They will also be Matt Trollope ("Mr.Pikes: The Story Behind the Ibiza Legend”) and Neil Forsyth ("Saint Charles").
The festival is held in the gardens of Pikes Ibiza around a vibrant market street food and will have workshops, talks, interviews, readings by authors, round tables, panels about literary creation and about the writing profession…

Tuesday 11 of September 2018
-At 13:30 p.m. Linda Quinn teaches the “How to Be a Writer” Workshop.
-Round table hosted by Neil Forsyth with Irvine Welsh, John Niven and Stephen Armstrong on Ibiza.
-Stephen Armstrong will talk about his book “The White Island: The Extraordinary History of the Mediterranean's Hedonism Capital”.
-In-depth conversation with Irvine Welsh about his career and his latest work “Dead Men's Trousers” (2018) and screening of the film “Trainspotting” outdoors, on the hotel's tennis court.
Wednesday 12 of September 2018
-Panel with Matt Trollope, in which Neil Forsyth and Stephen Armstrong will give advice and share experiences on the trade and the publishing industry.
-John Niven will talk about “Kill Your Friends” and his latest work, followed by a Q&A and book signing.
-Neil Forsyth will interview Toni Pike and Matt Troloppe, author of the memoirs of the founder of the Hotel Pikes.
-Activity of the puppet group Theater of The Ancients.
-The festival concludes with “The Spoken Word Festival”, an open microphone event where texts by guest authors will be read and where musicians, writers and performers can join.
