Sa Nostra Room, the cultural space of the Consell de Ibiza, hosts a new exhibition entitled 'Llaurant l'eteri', with 33 works of Josefina Torres, winning artist of the Vuit d'Agost Prize for Painting in 2021 with the work 'La mar trencada'.
In this exhibition the artist presents a series of works in which she combines color and represents a journey through her stage of cracks, ever since he started using this form of abstract and conceptual expression a few years ago to the present, when it continues to be a very important creative resource for her. Torres herself has stated: “The crack is for me a metaphor of the personal crisis, of the existential rupture, of those moments that represent a before and after in the development of a human being".
Josefina Torres use the technique of collage, painting the backgrounds of the paintings in which he later makes fissures and adds paper and cardboard to give them relief and dynamism, working on space and volume and converting his paintings almost in sculptural pieces.
Josefina Torres is an Ibizan artist with a degree in Visual Arts, Communication and Graphic Design from the TRACOR school and has participated in individual and group exhibitions in Madrid, Alicante, Catalonia, Mallorca and Ibiza, some promoted by the Art amb B association. In 2020 she won the second prize of the IbizaArt Guide contest.
