The Consell de Ibiza, through its Department of Social Welfare, organizes "Stones, older women without closets", an interesting exhibition with photographs of the Valencian artist María José Garrido.
The exhibition is organized on the occasion of International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, which is celebrated on May 17, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the riots in the Stonewall pub (USA), which marked a before and after in the fight for LGTBI rights.
The sample, which aims to give visibility to older lesbian, bisexual and trans women, is composed of black and white photographs, in which the use of harsh and contrasted lights and shadows is not accidental.
The title of the exhibition, "Stones" is a metaphor for loads that women endure and more if they are LTB, that is why stones appear in all the images, with which the photographer made all the portrayed pose.
The sample can be visited at the Cultural Center of Jesus from the Monday May 17, when it opens at 18:30 p.m., until May 27 2021. You can get closer to Monday to Friday in time 16 to 21 hours.
