One of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the year is back: the Fira des Gerret of Ibizathat fills the streets with Santa Eulalia of a lot of tasty recipes made with gerret or caramel, one of the richest and most typical fish of the Pitiusas, which also has great nutritional value.
The appointment, which celebrates this 2024 its Eighth edition, is organized by the Santa Eulalia Town Hall, the fishermen's guilds, the Ibiza Council and Peix Nostrum.
The VIII Fira des Gerret takes place on Saturday 2 March of 2024.
The day starts from 11:30 hours in the Marina of Santa Eulalia with the arrival of a llaüt (traditional boat) with a load of gerret which will be transported by car until the fair
A las 12 hours is a 'corn brulada' and a 'ballad paysa' to start the fair. In it, which is celebrated in the streets of Sant Jaume, s'Alamera and the Plaza de España, there will be two contests in which they participate two dozen restaurants, one of 'gerret rice', one of the most popular dishes prepared with this fish, and another to the best cover, where restaurants can let their imagination run wild and offer you gerret croquettes, pad thai, empanadas, rolls, rice...
The rations will be sold to popular prices.
In addition, throughout the day there will also be a marine and craft marketa photographic and audiovisual exhibition on the fishing of gerret 'amb artet', a children's drawing contest, workshops, giant and inflatable games for boys and girls.
You can also enjoy a dozen musical performances starting at 13:30 p.m. with Chacho, Carly and the Cats, Eivissurfers, Calle Boogaloo, My Generation, Swingintonic, DJ Buty, Burguez Brothers and es Broll.
