Hï Ibiza fights against deforestation by adopting the Dance For One Meter initiative, for only 1 euros it saves 1 metro2 from jungle forever!
Combating climate change and deforestation has never been so much fun. The superclub Hi Ibiza adopts the initiative in its first summer Dance For One Meter (D41M): Dancing and enjoying some of the most famous Djs around the world can save 1 m2 from jungle forever.
How does it work? When you buy any of your tickets for the incredible parties of Hï Ibiza, contributing only 1 euro more you can select using satellite technology and Google Earth the coordinates of the Reserve of Cuipo Foundations in the Brazilian jungle The square meter you would like to sponsor.
It may not be necessary, but it's worth remembering the awful speed at which the Amazon jungle is disappearing: every second of every minute of every day we lose the size of a jungle football field because of the deforestation, that also creates more carbon emissions than any other industry of the planet. The impact on our lives will soon be tremendously serious, if we do not take urgent action. We can do a lot, and we can start… dancing!
Ricardo Porteus and Tom Murray Conceived the Dance For One Meter project at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, realizing how much could be done if the potential of many was added to create a positive global impact.
According to Ricardo Porteus: “The D41M team includes me, Tom Murray and some of the world's most famous DJs alongside sustainability activists, and we are delighted to have the Hï Ibiza team join us in this incredibly positive global initiative. . They changed Ibiza's club scene forever with the creation of Ushuaïa, and now they've taken it to another level with Hï Ibiza, the most innovative club and team in the industry, and we're proud to have them. The D41M project is going to be implemented in the main festivals in the US and Europe this summer ”.
Yann Pissenem, Owner of Hï Ibiza, CEO and artistic director adds: “I am very happy and proud to be part of such an important and significant project. Deforestation is one of the biggest environmental problems facing the planet and being part of the D41M team is incredible. Power Take advantage of clubbing power in Ibiza and technology to make a difference on a global scale it's something we had to get involved with. "
