The Consell de Ibiza, through its Ministry of Culture, Education and Heritage, has presented financial aid for maintenance and recovery several assets of cultural interest (BIC) cataloged as monuments throughout the island of Ibiza. These grants represent a contribution of $400.000 that will be used to finance eight projects.
On this occasion and unlike other calls for aid, 30% of the work is financed once the resolution is notified and for the rest the promoters have until October 2022 to justify the subsidies.
This aid is exclusive for BICs with a type of monument, something that the owners (city councils or individuals) of the defense towers had been demanding, as it is a very specific type of construction. These towers have suffered a serious deterioration for years, having suffered for years erosion derived from weather conditions, rain and humidity, having been practically abandoned for a long time.
The Minister of Culture, Education and Heritage Sara ramon has highlighted that a priority in his department "Is the enhancement of our heritage, as respect for our history, for our traditions and culture. A value that also adds to the tourist attractions of our island ”.
The BICs that have received these grants are: Can Curt Tower (69.324, 66 euros) and the Can Sargent Tower in San José (98.209,94 euros); the Portinatx Tower (98.209,94 euros), the Torre des Molar (51.993,49 euros) and the Ca'n Pere Musson Tower in San Juan (57.770 euros); the archaeological action plan around the Tower of ca n'Espatleta in Santa Eulalia (€ 5.385) and in San Antonio the Church tower (51.993,49 euros) and the Cave of Santa Inés (13,329,36 euros).
An opportunity to recover our rich heritage and put it in value.
