On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Ibiza Council organizes a conference on tourism and plastic waste in the Plenary Hall of the institution.
The appointment is Monday 5 of June of 2023 de 17: 30 to 20 hours.
The objective is to publicize information on the environmental impacts of plastic throughout its entire life cycle, in comparison with other alternative materials and propose more sustainable actions.
Participating in the day Inma Saranova, director of Ibiza Preservation; Ayelen Alonso, coordinator of Plastic Free Ibiza and Formentera, who will present the World Initiative for Tourism and Plastics of the United Nations; samuel pinya, researcher and teacher of the Department of Ecology of the UIB with the paper "Plàstics Contamination in the Balearic Sea"; Ines Roig, responsible for the Plastic Free Balearics certification in Ibiza and Formentera; and Roberto González, responsible for the Sustainability Area of Vibra Hotels, who will present a pioneering initiative that the hotel group has carried out with APFEM Aktua and the Ibiza Council.
