Ibicine culminated its edition this year by closing its doors on Sunday, April 24, 2022 with a press conference in the elegant Nassau Beach Club Ibiza of Playa d'en Bossa which was attended by various film personalitiesinvited to the contest.
The Ibicine film festival was held in 2022 in the municipalities of Ibiza, Santa Eulalia and San Antonio, with projections in Can Ventosa, the Teatro España and the Cine Regio, industry meetings, press calls and various parallel activities, which confirmed it again as the great festival of short films on the island.
In total, more than 2.000 spectators enjoyed this contest created by the film director Helher Escribano, who declared at the closing press conference: “the programming of the 5th edition has had a excellent reception by the public and critics in all its sections, highlighting the quality of short and feature films, diversity of themes, the opening to new ways within the genre as well as the remarkable turnout of Spanish and international production”.
Ibicine presented the award Astarte of Honor from its 5th edition to Yolanda ramos for his extensive career and being a national benchmark, while "The Last Train to Rock'n'Roll", from the director Ignacio Malagon, a thug comedy about a group of old rockers received the Astarte Best Feature Film for the public.
The Ibiza Ibicine Film Festival will return with force in 2023. For this edition it has had the support of the Consell de Ibiza, the Santa Eulalia City Council, the San Antonio City Council, El Corsario, Nassau Beach Club Ibiza and Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay.
