El San José City Council and the Penya Esportiva Sant Jordi have signed an agreement of sponsorship of the Department of Equality with the team, for which the footballers of PE Sant Jordi will wear their new jerseys messages against sexist violence and in favor of equality.
These messages can also be read in various posters that have been installed in the Kiko Serra municipal field.
Guadalupe Nauda, Councilor for Equality, recalled that the sports club is very involved in order to promote female sport and give it visibility and stated: “sport, as a tool for training and education in values, can become a powerful engine of social change ".
El men's first team of the PE Sant Jordi will play in Third Division for the first time in history, and the women's first team will also debut in national category.
Ana Ribas, Deputy Mayor for Sports, was in charge of highlighting “The pride we feel in San José for an entity that is making history".
