The San José City Council has unified the numbering of the old streets of Montblanc and Camellias, which thus form the new street of the unionist Margalida Roig 'Llogat'.
This change of the street map is made to honor the memory of who, to this day, is the only woman declared illustrious daughter of the municipality. At the same time, it becomes the first street with a woman's name in San José, because "Llogat" was the only one of the four illustrious sons of San José who still did not have a dedicated street.
The mayor of San José, Josep Marí Ribas, has stated that the issue was "A subject that we had pending in a grievance that we are very happy to begin to repair with such a relevant character from the municipality and the island".
The new street maintains practically the same numbering in the part of the old Montblanc street, while the one that corresponded to Camelias street completely changes.
Neighbors have been conveniently informed of this change and the Post Office has also been informed.
Along with the name change, an important investment is being made to improve the final section of the old Calle de las Camelias, to provide it with sidewalks and to bury the service networks, in addition to putting the public lighting that this section did not have until now.
