El Consell de Ibiza has asked the Balearic Government to start a help line to compensate shops of losses arising from Latest restrictions on mobility in neighborhoods of Ibiza and San Antonio due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Minister of Economic and Business Promotion, María Fajarnés has transferred this concern to the General Director of Economic Promotion of the Government Manuel Porras in a meeting held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
Fajarnese has stated that institutional aid "it is fundamental to guarantee the survival of small and medium businesses" and has remembered that “The damages derived from the paralysis of economic activity during the state of alarm, must be added the decrease in income due to the application of protection measures such as the limitation of capacity and, now, the mobility restrictions approved in some places ".
Remember that the Consell de Ibiza has invested 1.320.000 euros in lines of aid for the self-employed together with the municipalities, plus 500.000 euros to guarantee loans to micro, small and medium enterprises and 150.000 euros of aid that has been allocated to city councils for commercial boosting actions.
As well it is working currently in various lines of promotion of small and medium businesses, to encourage “small purchases”.
Fajarnese has also asked the Government to study making commercial activity more flexible in the affected areas due to restrictions in Ibiza (Eixample neighborhood) and San Antonio (urban center). Of course, always complying with current security measures.
