The film "The Europeans", A production of IB3 (Islas Baleares) directed by Victor Garcia Leon, Shot on the island of Ibiza and released in 2020, it has received several important nominations.
Specifically, the film has been nominated for Goya Awards in the categories of Best Adapted Screenplay (Bernardo Sánchez and Marta Castillo based on the novel by Rafael Azcona), Best Supporting Actor (Juan Diego Botto) and Best Costume Design.
The film is also nominated for Feroz Awards in the categories of Best Comedy Film, Best Leading Actor (Raúl Arévalo), Best Supporting Actor (Juan Diego Botto) and the FlixOlé Award for the best poster (Davis de las Heras).
"The Europeans" is based on the famous novel of the same name by Rafael Azcona which tells the story of Miguel Alonso and Antonio, two thirty-something single men who traveled to Ibiza in the late 50s, attracted by the island's freedom and the sexual myth of European tourists. In the cast of the film, in addition to Raúl Arévalo and Juan Diego Botto, we find Stéphane Caillard, Carolina Lapausa, Boris Ruíz and Georgina Latre. The film is produced by Jaime Gona, Enrique López Lavigne and Xavier Granada.
“Los Europeos” premiered last August on the Orange TV platform and at the Malaga Festival. On November 20 it was released in Spanish cinemas by Filmax.
