El Ibiza Mare Nostrum Folk Festival has been forced to cancel its 24th edition, which was to be held on these dates, due to the poor evolution of the coronavirus pandemic on the island.
This important cultural event, organized by the Federation of Colles de Ball and Popular Culture of Ibiza, with the collaboration of Consell de Ibiza and the five municipalities from the island, every year brings together a large number of participants from Ibiza, and also from other places in Spain and Europe.
Given the current health situation, its organizers have decided to postpone it until next year.
And while we wait for him to return, the Consell and the Federation of Colles de Ball and Popular Culture of Ibiza have published a beautiful commemorative video that pays tribute to 23 years of life of the festival, reviewing its history and highlighting its importance as an open window to the culture and folklore of the island and abroad.
As the Minister of Culture, Education and Heritage explains, Sara Ramon, the festival “It has always been well received by the public and has had the collaboration of the Consell Insular since its inception, as can be seen in the video we have edited, where it is explained that the objective of the Festival is spread the typical dances of the island both at this event and off the island, and so promote and publicize one of the aspects of popular culture in Ibiza such as country dance".
Do not miss this beautiful video.
