Say goodbye to the year with a beautiful walk through San Mateo

The hiking group Walking Ibiza reorganizes its traditional and popular New Year's Eve special excursion.

The plan is the 31 December 2021 Friday at 10 hours. The meeting point is in the Church of San Mateo.

With Toby's guide, the ride starts in the valley near San Mateo, an area where the most important vineyards on the island are located. You will pass through a forest of pine, olive, fig and carob trees and collect rosemary, thyme and lavender along the way. Later you will arrive at a promontory that many centuries ago was a Muslim enclave and you will also be able to see the "great wall of Ibiza", a wall of an original height of 5 meters, with watchtowers, of which a small portion remains intact in this zone. You can also enjoy exceptional views of the sea.

The route is rated as medium difficulty, with a duration of about 10 km ass and 3 hours approx.

Do not forget to take comfortable clothes and shoes, water in abundance and something to eat.

In addition, the group is planning a meal after the route in the restaurant Ses Cassettes of San Mateo. The menu, composed three courses plus drink (with meat and vegetarian option) costs 30 euros.
