XXXI Pitiusas Nautical Days at the Ibiza Yacht Club
The XXXI Pitiusas Nautical Days are held from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 of September 2019 with the participation of some 60 boats and 450 athletes
The Pitiusas Nautical Days they celebrate their XXXI edition by the Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September 2019. This is the oldest Pitiusas cruise competition, a three-stage regatta organized by the Ibiza Yacht Club in which a total of 90'5 miles.
Created in 1974, it is one of the most important sporting events of the year and a reference in the race calendar.
Due to its success, participation is limited by operability. So, again this year, some 60 boats (maximum number allowed per space and moorings) of a size between 9'5 and 20 meters in length, and 450 athletes Arrived from places like Russia, Belgium or Italy, among many others.
In the words of Rafael Prats, sports coordinator of the Yacht Club of Ibiza and director of the Pitiusas Nautical Days, “It's a very beautiful race because combines the playful aspect with the sporty since the participants know the island from another point of view, from the sea. In addition, it is a regatta totally ecological since almost no fuel is used".
The regatta is divided into three stages. The first is a journey of about 34 miles between Ibiza and San Antonio by the north of the island. The second is between San Antonio and the Port of La Savina, in Formentera, with a total of Milla 24. The third, of 32'5 milesborder Formentera from the south to return to the Port of Ibiza.
In each of the ports the different trophies or Silver Jabeques are awarded to the winners of each stage.
