The famous cycle of acoustic concerts Dorado Live Shows, a classic event every summer in Ibiza that brings us incredible artists from the national and international rock and indie scene so that we can enjoy them live, it has already announced its programming for this summer 2023.
However, the most important news is the change of scenery this season, as the concerts are no longer held at their usual location, the Santos Ibiza hotel in Playa d'en Bossa, and are moved to the multifunctional space Venice Bay, located between the hotels Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel y Grand Paradiso.
Change of location for a musical cycle that maintains its quality intact and that, in previous editions, has allowed us to enjoy concerts by artists such as Loquillo, Ivan Ferreiro, Miss Cafeína, Arizona Baby, Carlos Sadness, Amaia, Sidonie, El Kanka or Zahara , among many others.
With a wider space, the appointments of the cycle acquire a character more festive and they will have food truck, with delicious bites to charge your batteries, a ramp to skate, Lois Corner and many more surprises.
Golden Artists Live Shows 2023
The edition of this 2023 season, the eighth of the cycle, has six concerts confirmed, each of them with a group or main artist and an opening act.
The cycle is inaugurated by the pop rock band Carolina Durante el 18 May 2023 Thursday. This Madrid band, formed in 2017 by Diego Ibáñez (vocals), Martín Vallhonrat (bass), Juan Pedrayes (drums) and Mario del Valle (guitar), exudes attitude on stage and already has true hymns such as 'Cayetano', 'Not so young', 'Ice girl', 'The titular anthem' or 'Necromantic', which constitute acid contemporary portraits. Distorted pop, musical power and a great sense of humor for this band that already went through the Dorado Live Shows in 2019.
Together with them they also perform on May 18 At night, the revelation group of the Madrid underground scene, a quartet born during the pandemic that has become known with the song 'Para nada'.
The next appointment is the June 22th, 2023 starring Carlos Sadness. The Barcelona singer, songwriter and illustrator with the long hair is another who repeats in the cycle, as we were also able to enjoy him in 2019. We can't wait to see how his long hair waves while we let ourselves be rocked by his irresistible whispered pop, full of warmth and optimism, with those lyrics full of humor and its addictive electronic beats. Some of his many hits are songs like “What electricity”, “Modern Physics”, “Celeste”, “I love you a little”, “Au Revoir” or “Odd Days”.
To act as opening act will be the Morning Drivers, the indie rock project of Miquel Serra, Luis Iglesias, Mariano Costa, Miquel M. Thomas and Sebastian Budding, which is one of the most popular and solvent Ibizan groups.
The third stop of the cycle brings us to Christina Rosenvinge el 13 July 2023 Thursday. The Madrid-based singer-songwriter of Danish descent has a long and award-winning musical career in which she has reinvented herself on countless occasions, always keeping her creativity and her artistic independence intact. 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the publication of 'let lightning strike me', an album that she recorded with Los Subterráneos after leaving Álex y Cristina, a group that launched her to fame, and with which she began her solo career. We wonder if she will sing '1000 pieces', 'You for me' o 'I'm in a car'.
What is certain is that it will be supported by New Young Polaks, the youngest rock group on the island. Made up of Marc Serra, Toni López, Ángel López and Raúl Torres, all minors, they cover rock classics and have begun to release some of their own songs.
El Thursday August 3 2023 another of the novelties of this year takes place, the premiere of a special session entitled 'Womance' and starring female artists, something that the organizers announce will continue every year. This day, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a concert of Hinds, an indie rock, garage rock, garage pop and lo-fi band founded in Madrid in 2011. Its journey began as a duo formed by Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote, under the name "Deers" ("deer") but they had They had to change it to avoid confusion with another Canadian group to “Hinds” (“hinds”) and Ade Martín and Amber Grimbergen were also added to the band. Their debut album 'Leave Me Alone' launched them to fame and they even recorded a song for the Spanish version of 'Cars 3'. His are songs like 'Good Bad Times', 'And how?', 'San Diego', 'Just Like Kids' or 'Riding Solo'.
The one chosen to accompany her that day is the singer Lala Hayden, a versatile artist who became famous as a presenter on MTV and who, with her former band Anteros, opened for groups such as Two Door Cinema Club.
The cycle closes 21 September 2023 Thursday starring Mando diao, Swedish indie rock and garage rock band, with touches of the sixties that rose to fame with the album 'Hurricane Bar' and songs like 'god knows'. Composed by Björn Dixgard, Daniel Haglund, Carl-Johan Fogelklou, Patrik Heikinpieti and Jens Siverstedt, Mando Diao has recently released the album 'Boblikov's Magical World', with songs like 'Primal call' and it will be a tremendous ending to be able to enjoy their forceful live show in Ibiza, in which we can't help but hope they play 'Dance with Somebody'.
The Ibizan alternative rock band Weird Children, made up of Guillem Llavero, Marco Marqués, Oliver Barnosi and Nacho Abella, who already has several singles and performed in the past Sonorama Ibiza, will be in charge of opening for the Swedes.
