In Ibiza we are throwing it, literally. We already know the date in which the mythical Serra cinema will be shot down: Friday 13 in January. There have been so many rumors that have circulated around his demolition that we began to think that he would stay in that, rumors. However, Vila Town Hall today announced the date on which one of the symbols of the island will disappear forever.
The works will provoke changes in the circulation of the areaBoth for pedestrians as for vehicles. Specifically, Forbidden to circulate and park in the street Bartomeu Vicent Ramon (the back exit of the old cinema) from the 8 hours on Friday and until the 22 hours on Saturday 14. Keep in mind that the ban extends practically to the whole block of the old cinema.
Access to the neighborhoods of the Marina and Dalt Vila will be carried out along the avenue of Santa Eulalia during those days.
Much has been said about the business that will now be raised in the place that has occupied the cinema from 1912, when It was inaugurated as a performance hall. What if a shopping center, what if a famous franchise ... There were even those who contemplated the possibility that it would simply be reformed to give it a more modern appearance and continue with its programming. Finally, the Serra cinema screened its last feature film on November 2 of 2014 and the property sold the space to the KKH Capital and Property investment fund. The company has decided turn this place into a five star city hotel that will have some 60 rooms.
