The Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza (MACE) occupies the interior of an emblematic building of the XVII century located in Dalt Vila, in the historical center of Eivissa.
Recently refurbished, it reopened its doors at 2012 with a major expansion of its facilities. Almost 2.000 square meters of rooms where permanent and temporary samples of contemporary artists are exhibited.
Its collections include an important example of the plastic creation that emerged on the island in the 60 decade, as well as works by artists such as Tàpies y Miralles, among others, and by some lesser known, original or resident in the Balearic Islands . It also highlights his important sample of engravings.
It was inaugurated in the year 1969 being the museum of this pioneer style in Spain. In its interior, numerous exhibitions of local and foreign artists and activities such as workshops and conferences take place throughout the year.
Admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza (MACE) is free.
In April, May, June and September from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 to 14 hours and from Tuesday to Friday from 17 to 20 hours.
July and August: From Tuesday to Sunday from 10 to 14 hours. Tuesday to Friday from 17 to 20 hours.
From October to March: From Tuesday to Friday from 10 to 16.30 hours. Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 14 hours.
Closed every Monday and public holidays.
How to get there
You must go up to Dalt Vila. If you do it for the access that is just behind the famous Plaza de Parque in Ibiza you will find it easier to find it.
